Welcome to Spotlight

At the Charity & Security Network we work at the intersection of national security policy and nonprofit rights.

So what does that mean?

That means counterterrorism efforts led by the United States often hamstring international peacebuilding, humanitarian aid, and development projects being led by civil society around the world. That is where our work begins. We advocate for nonprofit rights to ensure civil society flourishes where it is needed most.

On Spotlight we will recap the news from the national security sector, highlight the most important developments and analyze how it impacts nonprofits. Additionally, episodes will feature opinion and analysis from sector experts, ranging from legal and finance professionals to international peacebuilding practitioners, to paint a picture of how U.S. policy impacts nonprofit programs and operations around the world.
