Charity & Security Network is proud to be a research partner on the CIVICUS Monitor, a real-time portal to information about the state of civil society around the world. As the North American research partner, Charity & Security Network monitors conditions related to freedoms of expression, association and peaceful assembly in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Cuba.
In the spring of 2017, CIVICUS added the United States to its five-country Watch List. This is a reflection of the dramatic decline in the respect for civic space in the U.S. following the inauguration of President Donald Trump. Specifically, the Monitor will track the state of freedom of expression and freedom of peaceful assembly more closely.
